I see a lot of the Buffy vs Edward trope, and I admit that I dig it because of how much I a) dig both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its message to young girls and b) dig neither Twilight nor its message to young girls. But that being said… Buffy clearly makes exceptions for certain vampires that don’t attack people. Since Edward and his family are “vegetarian” vampires as well, I’m really not convinced that Buffy would go after him.

Hello! My name is Joe Kessler. I'm a 23-year-old grad student, studying linguistics at the University at Buffalo in upstate New York. I grew up in Vero Beach, Florida, and I went to college at William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
I am pro-diversity in all domains, and I am a regular advocate for acceptance and celebration of linguistic variation. Not sure what that means? Feel free to ask me anything, or check out my blog on the subject.

I am also a lifelong bookworm -- at the moment I am reading Inside of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz, and my favorite authors include Stephen R.
